Getting Started with BreachRisk™ for Business

Your guide to getting the most out of your BreachRisk™ subscription.

To discover your cyber risks and start testing your defenses with BreachRisk™ for Business, there are three steps to get started: registration, adding your environment(s) and selecting your service level.
  • Registration.  If you are new to BreachBits, you can get started by creating a new account, registering your organization and verifying your authorization to monitor and test your organization's IT infrastructure.
    • Creating a new account.  New accounts can be created at https://my.breachrisk.co/register.  Once your account is created, you will be asked to verify your email and enable multi-factor authentication to protect your account.
    • Register your organization.  Once your account is created, you will be prompted to confirm the organization you are adding to the service.  This is based on the domain in the email address you used to create your account, which we consider your primary domain.  You will be able to add additional domains associated with your organization in the next step.
    • Verify authorization.  Once you have registered your organization, you will be able to access the BreachBits Dashboard.  Before being able to see technical details or enable testing, however, we need to make sure you have the authorization to do so.  To do this, you can add a TXT record to your organization's DNS.

If the organization you want to monitor or test is different than the one associated with your primary domain, please contact BreachBits Support to discuss your particular use case.

  • Adding your IT environment.  While initial BreachRisk™ assessments discover the cyber risks associated with your primary domain, most organizations have additional resources that may fall outside of your primary domain, such as managed virtual private network (VPN) devices, cloud environments, additional domains, etc.

By adding domains and IP addresses to your organization, you are verifying that the domain or IP addresses belong to your company, and/or you have authority to test the IT infrastructure associated with them.

  • Selecting your service level.  By default, new customers are given a BreachRisk™ for Business Free subscription, which provides an updated BreachRisk™ Score and Report on at least a quarterly basis.  To increase the frequency of these updates, manage technical details and/or enable penetration testing, select the Manage Subscription link on the left-hand menu of the Dashboard, or visit https://my.breachrisk.co/board/settings/subscription
